30 something guy from Charlotte NC. Originally from NY like half the other people in Charlotte. Changed from unaffiliated to registered Democrat 7 years ago. Dubya made me do it.

Kos, Cry Babies and Nadarites

I have heard or read very little from liberal muckity mucks last evening, or this morning, about the total collapse of the Democratic base in yesterdays elections.  What was more important on the to do list yesterday than stopping by the polls to cast a vote?   I did however catch Kos, linked to via the Huffington Post, crying and whining and making excuses for the failure of the base to turnout.

If this guy is supposed to be one of the leaders of the liberal movement, then the liberal movement is in trouble if you ask me.

Gunshots Hit Peter DeFazio's Office, Federal Courthouse

I am sort of shocked that this is not getting more play ... or maybe it is and I am just missing it sitting here in front of my computer, but a gunman fired several shots at a Federal Courthouse in Eugene, Oregan, hitting the offices of (D) Rep. Peter DeFazio.

The attack happened overnight it appears when no one was in the office and no one was harmed.  The FBI is investigating.

Obama Takes It to Fox, Netroots Leaves Him Out to Dry

Where are the letters to the editors (stamped envelopes still get the most attention)?   Where are emails flooding in boxes?   Where are the callers to the radio talk shows?   Where is the support for Obama on the left?

This is reminding me of August and the townhall death panel bullshit, where conservatives, and drunk, lazy, or stupid (or all three) journalists ruled the day on health care and prgressive where on holiday.  The White House has again mounted a charge only to find their troops are skulkers.

Simple Executive Salary Fix

I have had this idea for addressing the outrageous executive salaries that we have seen explode recent years kicking around in my head and thought I would lay it out here and see if anyone thought it was a good idea.

In short I propose something of a luxury tax - on companies, not individuals - who take home extremely high amounts of compensation.

Redstate Brings Race Into The Nobel Prize Award

The unexpected news that President Obama has won the Nobel Peace Prize has drawn varied reactions from around the world.   But here in the United States it drew exactly the reaction you'd expect from the unhinged, extremist right wing of our political spectrum.

Tell CBS To Fire David Feherty

In fact tell Golf Magazine to fire him also.

This little bug Ferherty has suggested that US military troops would kill Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid if given them chance.

Writing in D Magazine Ferherty offers up this gem, "if you gave any U.S. soldier a gun with two bullets in it, and he found himself in an elevator with Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and Osama bin Laden, there's a good chance that Nancy Pelosi would get shot twice, and Harry Reid and bin Laden would be strangled to death."

Kill The So Called Stimulus Bill. We Need Big Ideas.

Scrap the so called stimulus bill and start over.

Go back to the big ideas.  Instead of a million little items, many of which do ZERO to stimulate anything or anybody, go back to a core group of big ideas that will not only create jobs and stimulate the economy but pay dividends in the future.

Think of all the great ideas proposed not only by Obama, but in the last race by John Kerry, and some of the other challengers.   There were a lot of big ideas floated.  Ideas that were great, although at the time you had to know the willingness to fund them would probably never come.

Go Shopping America!

Barack Obama can actually take a bit of a page from George W. Bush.  Hard to believe I said that, but I think he can.  After 9-11 George Bush made a call to Americans to go shopping.  Granted it was clumsy, and the exact timing may not have been right.

But I know why he said it.  I know what he meant.  It was important that Americans get up and go out and have confidence at at time that we'd just been wounded on the ground in NY, PA, and DC, and seen the stock market take a dive.
